Trans-Alaskan Pipeline

E-Max, Inc., formerly Susemichel & Associates, Inc., provided engineering services for Martin Sweets Company and Owens-Corning Fiberglass Corporation to design an industrial process to manufacture 65,000 anchor insulators for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.

Through the coordinated efforts of the three firms' engineering staffs, the process was designed with considerable savings in material handling and mold equipment costs.

In addition, the “Engineer-Build” concept was employed on this project and time was saved because the long delivery items were purchased and fabrication began as engineering progressed.
