Andrew H. Susemichel, P.E., C.E.M., G.B.E. President of E-Max Energy LLC
Andrew is the President and managing principal for all E-Max projects. He is a Certified Energy Manager and a Professional Engineer, licensed in KY, NC, IN and OH. He earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville’s Speed Scientific School. Susemichel held engineering positions at International Nickel, International Harvester, LG&E Energy, Ford Motor Company and was instructor of mechanical engineering for 3 years at University of Louisville prior to starting Susemichel Engineering in 1969.
His energy engineering experience began in 1974 with the engineering of the anchor insulator process for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. In 2005, Andrew led the development of a simple, reliable, non-proprietary, expandable energy control called the E-Max Energy $aver, which is now operating in over 2,000 quick serve-restaurants nationwide.
In 1977, Andrew Susemichel was chosen Young Engineer of the Year by the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers. In 1978, the National Society of Professional Engineers chose the Trans Alaska Pipeline project as one of it’s the Top 10 Engineering Achievement Awards. Susemichel’s engineering firm designed the anchor insulation process for the Alaska Pipeline. Also in 1978, Susemichel’s firm received two awards from the American Society of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) called the Gateway to Energy Award given for their engineering of the new Robinson Nugent factory and office in New Albany, Indiana.
In 1984 the Jefferson County Public Schools received the United States Department of Energy award for “The Best Energy Management System of Schools receiving DOE ISP Program.” Susemichel’s engineering firm was responsible for engineering this award winning system.
In 2015 Andrew Susemichel received the University of Louisville’s Professional Award in Mechanical Engineering.

Michael R. Smith, Executive Vice President of E-Max Energy LLC
Mike has extensive experience in human resources/administration and general operations in multiple industries. Over the years, he has been a coach and mentor to many growing and developing companies and their leaders.
For 26 years, Mike was a leading human resources/administrative officer for Humana Inc. His responsibilities included on-site projects in over 80 hospital and 25 managed care insurance offices across the nation. He also has significant responsibilities in start-up operations of new divisions. Mike has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, leading acquisition teams through the process of due diligence all the way to acquisition implementation.
Mike uses processes and people to build infrastructure and efficiency in companies where this is lacking. He has a passion for working through people and improved processes to bring about operational, staffing and workflow efficiencies. Mike is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He holds a BS in Marketing as well as an MBA in Personnel and Organizations from the nationally recognized Kelly School of Business. He is an accomplished and sought after speaker on leadership topics and has facilitated over 125 seminars including 5,500 leaders in the last five years.
Jerry Nichter, Director of Strategic Planning of E-Max Energy LLC
Jerry has an extensive professional background in owning his own companies and serving other corporations in the capacity of CIO, COO, General Manager, and President. In his 40 years of business, Jerry has developed a very strong bias toward the necessity of Strategic Planning in any business venture. In his own businesses and in businesses he has been asked to develop and run, Jerry has led business planning teams to launch new products and businesses across multiple industries. Jerry was Co-Owner and founder CIMTEC, LLC, a technologies engineering and software development firm who developed DAS systems for power plants throughout the U.S. After CIMTEC was acquired, Jerry led one of the largest privately held Industrial Safety Equipment Suppliers in the U.S.
Leadership development has been at the heart of every business Jerry has managed. Jerry instills in the companies he advises that solid leadership and clear direction is essential to success. Leadership setting the culture and nurturing it has been a significant focal point for Jerry.
Over the last eight years, Jerry has served in the capacity of “Independent Business Advisor” to presidents more than thirty companies. His experience, knowledge, and management skills make Jerry an effective and Trusted Advisor who can work with Presidents and organizations to optimize their potential in the planning stages and in the execution of those plans. Jerry will assist the E-Max team as they pursue their technologies vision for the future.
Linda J. Knox, Director of Marketing and Sales of E-Max Energy LLC
With over 30 years as a marketing professional, Linda has worked with several large corporations both domestically and internationally, including Vermont American, Emerson Electric and Robert Bosch GmbH. She has also worked with major retail customers in the hardware and home center channels doing analysis and helping to develop strategic programs to best meet their needs and achieve their goals. During her tenure as head of lawn and garden marketing activities in North America, the company grew to 6 times its original size. She directed the activities of multiple agencies and vendors, both domestic and international to finish projects on deadline and budget.
Her role will be to assist customers with their sales and marketing plans and contribute to E-Max’s overall marketing and sales efforts with a special focus on the new Energy $aver control
product. Linda attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and received continuous training on a wide range of subjects through both Emerson and Bosch.
John R. Fleming, Director of Government and Special Projects Sales & Marketing of E-Max Energy LLC
John Fleming is a seasoned executive and consultant with over 30 years of experience in creating and implementing innovative marketing and workforce solutions to challenging business problems. John has developed and implemented an integrated marketing and training system for 13 western states, training over 2000 sales representatives. He has introduced and facilitated marketing management development programs for over 100 small business managers.
John has developed and led demand-side community and business initiatives in information technology, banking and finance, healthcare, building trades and engineering, which connected over 1,100 “harder to serve” candidates in employment. His clients for these services include Fannie Mae, PNC Bank, Anacostia Waterfront Corporation, the Office of Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development for the District of Columbia and Forest City Washington, a large real estate developer.
John has led a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that has placed current and dislocated workers with Humana, WellPoint, National Patient Account Services, Measured Progress, US Bank, PNC Bank and Serco N.A. (a large Department of Defense contractor). This firm also has supported military activities of the Joint Personal Effects Depot at Dover Air Force Base, Dover, Delaware.
John has been Vice President of Human Resources and Vice President of Marketing for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Prior to Anthem, John was Director of Marketing for Metropolitan Life.
John is a retired U. S. Army Lieutenant Colonel. He has commanded a combat unit and received the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medals.
Jennifer Leach, Financial Director of E-Max Energy LLC
Jennifer joined E-Max in 2008 and is a second generation E-Max employee. She has worked with a wide variety of businesses with different financial needs over the last 17 years. Jennifer received her accounting degree from the University of Louisville and remains an avid Cardinal fan. Her primary duties include integrating the several E-Max sister companies financials into one management financial report, and interacting with outside accounting firms as needed.

Rick Pearcy, E-Max Director of Sales and Marketing
Rick earned an accounting degree from Central Business College, Indianapolis. The first 30 years of Rick’s career was with a safety and fire equipment distribution company in Indianapolis He was bookkeeper, office manager and then worked as sales manager covering territories in Indiana and Kentucky. Rick also managed the firm’s office in Denver.
He was the owner of Pearcy Sales, Inc. representing Rockford Systems of Rockford Illinois selling machine guarding equipment and controls equipment and conducting seminars for Rockford Systems in the states of Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
He also worked for the Kentucky Labor Cabinet for over 15 years as a Safety Compliance Officer in the KYOSH (OSHA) program. During that time, he made safety inspections of businesses of all types in the state and trained other compliance officers, as well as attorneys in the General Counsel’s office. During his time with the Kentucky Labor Cabinet, he appeared as an expert witness in cases involving the Labor Cabinet’s other compliance officers and worked with companies in abating citations.

Carol Ambrose, E-Max Financial Manager of E-Max Energy LLC
Carol has 40 years bookkeeping experience including owning a successful bookkeeping company specializing in small businesses. She has been with E-Max, Inc. since 2009, handling financial tasks. She will manage the data interchange for completed rebate applications and all invoicing. She will review and verify rebate amounts and invoicing on a routine basis.
